I stumbled across an interesting article that makes a case for Gandhi serving an Illuminati agenda. I've read elsewhere that the Rothschild family were the secret financiers of the Indian independence movement - the fact that Gandhi was sent to study non-violence with Tolstoy and then set up through the Cecil Rhodes network in South Africa tend to support the author's conviction that he was playing a role.
