January 18, 2015 by Abdelhak Mamoun

(IraqiNews.com) The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) stated earlier that, the ISIS organization in Iraq has turned to a defensive position, and that the US-led coalition airstrikes have had an impact on the terrorist group.
Pentagon spokesman, John Kirby said in a press statement that, “The United States strategy in fighting ISIS is working effectively,” noting that, “The international coalition managed to reduce the ISIS authority in Iraq.”
He added, “The organization is now trying to maintain the gains made earlier, and cannot switch to the offensive at the moment,” confirming that, “Washington’s strategy in fighting ISIS focuses mainly on Iraq, although it is not limited to Iraq only.”
